Malaysians are very famous for treating the double lines in the middle of the road as if nothing is there. Why? Because they can get away with it. No policemen around ... most of the time. Even if there are cops around, they won't do a thing. Too much work to fill in reports.
So they just cross over to the other side crossing a double line and pose a danger to oncoming vehicles with nary a thought for others. Also when the government puts the plastic poles to prevent people from crossing, these drivers break the poles and just drive through them.
