The Malaysian Government is trying to enforce the rear seat belts rule. This is a good move but can they succeed? Just look at how many drivers now who don't even wear the front seat belts. Every 100 cars you observe, you can see about 60 to 70 who don't even bother putting on their seat belts, both drivers and front seat passengers.
If a person wears his seat belt because he is afraid of being caught, then he will find every chance not to wear them. But if a person wears due to safety reasons, he will ALWAYS wear his seat belt. So the motive of wearing must be established. One should never feel that not to wear his seat belt will result in a fine. He should be educated that not to wear his seat belt means his life is always in danger on the roads.
